Coming Back -- The Daleks! (1964)

1964-03-13 Daily Mirror.jpg

[edit]

LOOK out! The horrible Daleks are coming back by popular request.

The fearful mechanical monsters on their planet In Outer Space were "killed off" last month in the BBC's Saturday TV serial "Dr. Who."

But ugly as they were — there's one in the picture above — thousands of children just loved the Daleks.

They flooded the B B C with their pleas to revive their favourite monsters.

Now producer Verity Lambert, 28, has agreed to bring the much-loved staccato-voiced Space machines back into the story later in the year.

Large

She told me last night: "We had no intention of doing so originally, but in view of this large demand we have changed our minds."

She added: "It will take several months before we can get the scripts written to firing there back into the serial."
