Pick of the day

Dr Who (BBC1, 6.05)

It is not Glastonbury threatening the very fabric of time and space this weekend the final episode of Matt Smith's debut series as Doctor Who descends into the apocalyptic abyss. However, for all the bleakness of Steven Moffat's finale - the Doctor faces his worst nightmare, the Tardis is gone, the universe is in peril - the foundations of series remain sturdy, with acclaimed Smith taking up the screwdriver in style. A new series is promised next year so it seems the universe is safe for now.
