Speaking of Channel 8: "Dr. Who Theatre" is in trouble and scheduled for the axe.

Promotion director Andrew Davis reports the Saturday night British farce has registered "virtually no ratings" and will be dropped from the lineup in mid-December. The only hope: a huge public outcry.

"I'd love for someone to champion the cause of 'Dr. Who,'" Davis said, adding that the station has gotten very little response to the show and those few letters are split between those who love "Who" and those who hate him.

"We'd like to hear something, one way or the other," he said.
