LEGENDARY Dr Who star Tom Baker played a beyond-the-grave joke on a fan who wrote to him asking if he was DEAD. The actor was stunned by the peculiar letter, yet wrote back to the fan confirming his death in 1986.

Posing as Tom Baker's fan club secretary, he claimed they kept in touch with the former timelord by "table-rapping" at seances.

Baker confirmed: "We said that Tom did die in 1986, but we are in constant touch and he appears to be very happy"
