[edit]

YOUR worst nightmares may come true by facing Dr Who's deadliest enemies on a visit to the National Garden Festival in Gateshead.

Visitors to the event this summer can go on a futuristic journey of discovery through Dr Who's Tardis.

They will journey through the doctor's "time-tunnel" into the next century to meet many of the creatures from Dr Who's adventures, including the Daleks, Sil, Kiv, Sea Devil, Vervoid and Plasmatron.

The spectacular show is Tyne and Wear Development Corporation's exhibit at the Festival, which created jobs for 20 people. Time-warp visitors will be safely guided through the exhibition by K9 and a squad of "friendly aliens" — a team of street theatre characters, including 21-year-old Seymour Mace, from Jarrow.

Beyond the Tardis, visitors will take their seats in a huge auditorium, where a 72 ft "wrap-around" screen will take them on a breathtaking 10-minute journey
