HAVING made a date with the Doctor on Saturday night, it was disconcerting, to say the least, to have the first scary sequence punctuated by the distinct sound of a cheering crowd and a whooping Graham Norton trumpeting, "You want me over here?" Yet no review reported on the technical hitch that led to this sonic bleed-through from a live BBC3 show, the follow-up to Strictly Come Dancing.
I thought I was dreaming, until I consulted the internet, where a host of Who geeks confirmed that, yes, despite the good Doctor's powers, Graham had come through from the other side. Talk about spooky. Much scarier than any of the Doctor Who monsters, and a fantastic example of the BBC managing to mess up their biggest show this year. Not that, Billie aside, the hammy acting and over-lit sets didn't do that anyway
