[edit]

For 20 years he has been shuttling through space, sorting out galactic problems and vanquishing monsters. Born with two hearts and a body temperature of 60 degrees, the astonishing Doctor Who roams through the galaxy in his remarkable spaceship, the Tardis. Tonight KTCA will begin the newest series of this fantastic science adventure. We know you fans of the good Doctor will be thrilled with the feature-length movies airing every Friday night. The space odyssey begins with "Castrovalva." As you may remember, at the conclusion of "Logopolis" our hero plunged from the top of a giant radio telescope to his apparent doom. Fortunately, Time Lord metabolism can handle such perils, and the shattered body of the Doctor regenerates into that of a younger space traveller, portrayed by 30-year-old Peter Davison, whom All Creatures Great and Small viewers will recognize as the veterinary surgeon Tristan. Davison is the fifth actor to play the lead in the 18-year history of this popular series, and he is the youngest Time Lord to pass through the portals of the remarkable Tardis. Davison's Doctor is, like his predecessors, heroic and resourceful, but far from infallible.
