I DOCTOR Who could be in for a SEX CHANGE! And gorgeous actress Mary Tamm—the intrepid Time Lord's former assistant—wants the part.
Several independent TV companies are interested in taking over the series—axed by the BBC after a disastrous ratings battle with Coronation Street.
And one is keen to reincarnate the Doctor as a mini-skirted femme fatale.
Mary, 40, who as shapely Romana wowed fans with revealingly skimpy costumes when Tom Baker was the Time Lord, said: "I'd love to play the Doctor.
"It would have been best to change to a woman when Tom left.
"But of course nobody takes that kind of quantum leap at the BBC."
Sylvester McCoy was the last of many stars.
