IT'S STILL nostalgia time and, as the BBC's celebration of half a century's TV continues, here is the second part of our three-week competition. Each week we are posing three questions about the golden years of TV - if your memory doesn't stretch back that far there's a three-minute celebration video running at every Radio Rentals showroom that might help.
When, next week, you have solved all nine questions and completed the tie-breaker you could be on your way to winning one of our two first prizes - TVs specially made by Ferguson that combine all the elegance and style of the pioneer days with the latest technology.
Only 20 of these televisions, inspired by a 1937 Ultra set, will be made. Inside their walnut-veneered cabinets, with a mirror to reflect the image from the horizontal screen, is the latest Ferguson remote-control colour TV and, so you never miss a thing, a video-cassette recorder. It's an amazing piece of furniture and two of them will go to readers of RADIO TIMES as our first prizes.
The second prize is a year's free viewing - including rental of a new colour TV and video from Radio Rentals, plus a free TV licence.
There are five third prizes comprising major sets of BBC videos. Winners will receive either the complete Forsyte Saga, the complete Fawlty Towers, the complete Hancock, the complete Monty Python or a children's compilation.
Finally, there are 50 fourth prizes: the book BBCtv Presents, the fully-illustrated story of TV (from BBC Data Publications) by Nicholas Moss, deviser of this competition.
