For me, Lord Snowdon's photograph of a Dalek on this week's cover brings back the excitement of Saturday teatimes spent half-hidden behind the sofa willing the Doctor to escape extermination by his tinny enemies yet again.
For Colin Baker, the sixth to play the Time Lord, it's a reminder of a part of his career spent acting with a giant cone, as he recalls in BBC2's Doctor Who Night on Saturday.
