THE TARDIS may be bigger on the inside than on the outside but there still isn't enough room in there for all the entries to the Royal Mail Young Letter Writers' Competition.
Thousands of them were tumbling out of the time and space machine from "Dr Who" when celebrity judge Phillip Schofield went to check on the progress of this year's contest for which the theme is "A Letter to Another World."
"The letters have been flooding in and the high standard has come as a nice surprise. The fantastic response to this competition confirms the popularity of this form of communication," said Phillip, presenter of BBC1's Saturday morning show "Going Live."
Open to under 17s, the contest offers cash prizes totalling nearly £15,000. Anyone youngster wishing to enter should ring 01-245-7606 for further details but hurry as the closing date is March 31.
