Comic John joins Jodie for TARDIS adventures

SCOUSE comic John Bishop is set to star in Doctor Who.
He has landed a role as a new character called Dan in the BBC sci-fi hit.
He said: "If I could tell my younger self that one day I would be asked to step on board the TARDIS, I would never have believed it.
"It's an absolute dream come true to be joining Doctor Who."
Liverpool-born John, 54, has already started filming scenes alongside stars Jodie Whittaker, 38, and Mandip Gill, 32.
Doctor Who executives have been holding secret talks with John for a year. Show boss Chris Chibnall said: "It's time for the next chapter of Doctor Who and it starts with a man called Dan. We've had to keep this one secret for a long, long time.
"Our conversations started with John even before the pandemic hit.
"The character of Dan was built for him and it's a joy to have him aboard the TARDIS."
The announcement comes just a day after John revealed that he is battling coronavirus. He said it is "the worst illness" he has ever had.
