Colin Baker makes his WHA-TV debut as Dr. Who in a big way when Friends kicks off its October member drive with an all-day Dr. Who marathon. Seven episodes featuring the latest Doctor will air from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The volunteer operators in WHA-TV's studio will be local Dr. Who fans dressed as their favorite characters from the BBC-produced series.

Baker is the sixth actor to portray the doctor in the 23-year history of the series. In the first episode to air Oct. 11, viewers will find that the latest regeneration has not gone well and the Doctor exiles himself on the planet Titan 3. Through the day, Dr. Who Fans will see their hero encounter Cybermen, Time Lady Rani and, of course, the Daleks. In one episode, "The Two Doctors," Baker is united with Patrick Troughton, Doctor Number Two, to stop an evil experiment in time.

Born in London, Baker has studied law and drama and has extensive theatre and television credits. In his spare time, it is reported, Baker enjoys tennis, parachuting and soap operas.
