DR WHO took a step back in time today—way back to the age of steam radio.

Banished from the labrynths of the BBC's Shepherd's Bush Television Centre by new Controller Michael Grade, the time-travelling doctor (Colin Baker) and his assistant Peri (Nicola Bryant) journeyed to see more friendly beings at Broadcasting House.

There they will record a radio adventure, commissioned from Eric Saward, one of the original scriptwriters, and to be broadcast on Radio 4 in six ten-minute episodees from July 25.

Later a spokeswoman for thits autumn the BBC TV denied that their planned return to the screens had been halted because the series was thought too violent. They would definitely be hack nest year, she said.
