[edit]

Who, you may ask, is Dr. Who? Silly earthlings. The good doctor has been a time-traveling, planet-hopping sci-fi star of British television for 20 years. And the Dr. Who series, imported to the USA in the past few years, has acquired enough stateside fans to justify a full-fledged Whovian Festival Tour. It begins with the celebration Saturday and Sunday at Tampa's McKay Auditorium and winds up at the end of the month in Denver's Paramount Theater. In between are stops in Chapel Hill, N.C., Wednesday; Philadelphia July 19; New York City July 16-17; and Chicago July 23-24. Appearing at the Whovian gatherings will be Jon Pertwee, who starred as the third of five Dr. Whos, and Lis Sladen, who played spunky sidekick Sarah Jane Smith. For more information, call The Dr. Who Fan Club of America, (800) 225-5946.

JON PERTWEE: The third Dr. Who will tour the USA.
