HE'S BACK BATTLING THE ALIENS

GUNS, gay sex and ghouls mark the launch of the sci-fi show this summer.

The new 10-part series on BBC 1 is a joint venture with the US. Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman, 44) will be back in action and isn't toning down his saucy antics.

The bisexual time agent cops off with a barman in the first episode.

Also back will be trusty sidekick Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles, 32), who even brings her new baby along.

Torchwood's team hook up with CIA agent Esther Drummond (Alexa Nevins) to unravel the mystery or why no one is dying.

World population is out of control as sick and injured folk turn into zombies. Creator Russell T Davies, 48, who penned the series, said, "A miracle happens in the world and no-one dies.

"What will society do? This is what well explore."

A teaser trailer, which went online yesterday, sent fans into a frenzy.
