Doctor's farewell to all three of his girls

DOCTOR Who is set to clear out his Tardis at the end of the new series this year.

The Time Lord will wave goodbye to Rose (Billie Piper, 25), Martha (Freema Agyeman, 28) and Donna (Catherine Tate, 39).

And there are also changes afoot in Torchwood. Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman, 40) looks set to say farewell to crew members Owen (Burn Gorman, 32) and Toshiko (Naoko Mori, 32).

A TV source said: "There are some major shake-ups on the way. Get the tissues ready for some sad goodbyes."

The new 13-part series of Doctor Who airs next month with David Tennant, 36, back in charge of the Tardis and fighting off aliens.

Battle

But bosses are lining up a series of shocks for fans.

Although they are reuniting the Doc's old companions Rose and Martha with his new sidekick Donna for a dramatic battle against Dalek creator Davros, they won't be back for long.

At the end of the run, all of his assistants will be dumped back on Earth.

This will leave Tennant free to fly solo for what is rumoured to be his final fling as the Time Lord next year.

However, Freema is set to make a return in Torchwood on BBC2 next year with her character Martha tipped to replace two outgoing crew members.

It is widely rumoured Owen and Toshiko will be leaving Captain Jack's team.
