THOUSANDS of visitors made the most of a massive computer games exhibition in Merseyside.

The Game On 96 exhibition was organised by Data Exchange Ltd in Port Sunlight and sponsored by the ECHO.

The weekend event took place at the company's headquarters in Wood Street with a host of attractions.

Merseyside soccer stars of the past took on their modern day counterparts in a football computer battle.

Cybermen

Stars included Dave Hickson, David Johnson, David Fairclough, Gary Stevens, Alan Mahon, Alan Rogers, and Graham Branch of Tranmere Rovers.

Children were able to contact Father Christmas by computer, and fictional characters mingled with visitors—including Dr Who's Daleks and Cybermen.

Robin Williams, of Data Exchange, said: "The event was a big success with everyone enjoying themselves and we hope to repeat it next year.
