A 21-year-old Liverpool girl has been chosen to take Carole Ann Ford's place in the BBC's space serial, Dr. Who.

The BBC say Miss Ford. who is 24. is getting too old to play a 15-year-old.

The girl who takes her place is Maureen O'Brien, who recently left the Central School of Speech and Drama and has appeared at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool. where she played small parts.
