[edit]

ACTRESS Wendy Padbury (above) has been chosen to play a glamour girl in the Dr. Who children's T V serial ... because she doesn't look her age.

Wendy, Holland Park, London, is 20. But she'll play a 15-year-old astronaut called Zoe in the new Dr. Who adventure starting on BBC television next week.

She replaces Deborah Watling, 19, who is one of the Space doctor's young time-travelling companions in the present series. Deborah is leaving the show to go into film.

Wendy, once a member of the Crossroads cast on I T V, said last night: "I am very excited. I play a sort of human computer." She's certainly got things working out very nicely so far....
