A Dalek Special and Dr. Who are Attractions at Garden Fete

AN August Bank Holiday attraction at Woodlane, Yoxall, the annual garden fete organised by St. Francis's Church, has several new and up-to-date features this year. It Is being opened by the Rt. Rev. J. F. Cleary, and will be attended by a "Dr. Who" and the menu includes a "Dalek Special."
The first prize in a competition is a 30-inch scale model catamaran which has been built by Mr. Ralph Crowther, who tested it on the lake at Alton Towers.
"Though unlike Tinkerbelle she is not large enough to sail across the Atlantic. she will be the pride of any boating lake." says the Rev. Father P. Casey.
A 36-inch tall walking doll is another attraction in the competitions. There will be Polish and Irish dancing. a miniature railway and many sideshows, including a rifle range with precision-built air rifles loaned by B.S.A.
To help people to get to this lonely spot, where is mutated the oldest Roman Catholic Church in this part of Staffordshire, free buses are being run from Rugeley, Uttozeter, Burton and Tabun, and the villages in between. The bus from Rugeley starts at Springfields Estate and picks up in Lichfield Street.
