Mrs. Kismet Delgado, 43, widow of Roger Delgado, the actor who portrayed of "The Master" in BBC television's "Dr Who" series, has one compensation for her husband's death from the French government. Until now she has been forced to live on social security benefits.
Roger Delgado was killed in a road accident in Turkey in June, 1973, while working for Telecip, a French film company. The company refused to accept liability for compensation as the actor was not actually on location.
The French social security authorities accepted yesterday that the death was an industrial accident. Mrs. Delgado, of Teddington, who has also acted in "Dr Who" as female spider, was awarded a permanent minority of about £8 a week.
