An actress from Bath has been mingling with aliens and detectives thanks to appearances in two of the most popular shows on TV.
Francisca Garcia, from Lansdown, has travelled back in time in the Tardis and followed Dr Watson down the aisle. Miss Garcia appeared as an extra in Dr Who, alongside Sontaran Commander Strax, played by Dan Starkey.
And on Sunday viewers will be able to see her following Martin Freeman down the aisle in the highlyanticipated new series of Sherlock. Miss Garcia plays one of the bridesmaids at the wedding of Freeman's character Dr Watson, with Sherlock Holmes, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, as best man.
She got the part through her agent, and said she enjoyed working with Freeman, who made his name in the BBC2 comedy The Office and is currently starring in the latest Hobbit adventure on the big screen.
Miss Garcia said: "I was really excited when I got the call to be in Sherlock.
"Martin Freeman was lovely, very supportive and encouraging, and a really nice person. He made us all feel very relaxed."
Miss Garcia said she loved the show.
She said: "I was a big fan of Sherlock Holmes before, and my friends and family will be sitting down to watch the episode.
"It was very exciting to be a part of it."
Miss Garcia grew up in Wiltshire, and attended Sheldon School in Chippenham. She has been interested in acting from a young age, and has appeared as an extra in a number of shows.
The new series of Sherlock began last night, with her episode being shown on BBC1 at 8.30pm on Sunday.
The last series ended on a cliffhanger, in which the detective was seen observing his own funeral, in January 2012.
