"WHO the heck ..." wondered little Jason Thomas ... "is Doctor Who?"
Jason's father, Mr. Barry Thomas, of 35, Dillotford Avenue, Cheylesmore, Coventry thought he was doing his on a big favour when he took home an ex-Coventry City police box which he had bought from a scrap dealer about eight months ago
He thought it was just like the time machine which transports television's Dr. Who through the ages.
Mr Thomas was quite excited about it and he was sure Jason would be too.
Other toys
But Jason, who was two in November, took one look at the box and pedalled away on his little tricycle.
His mother, Mrs. Rita Thomas said: "He would look at it because his dad was interested in it, but he preferred his other toys.
"The only time he used it was when it was snowing. He would get behind it so no-one could hit him with snowballs." she said.
But the other children in the neighbourhood loved at and they played in it with Mr. Thomas.
Advertised
But Mr. Thomas, who has a news-agency in Lockhurst Lane, has a new interest now. He has bought a trailer which he wants to use for a new business venture but he cannot get it into the backyard because of the "Time Machine."
So the box has been advertised for sale, for £12.
There is just one thing wrong and that may have put Jason off.
The police box is green and the real thing on television is blue.
