An Australian actress, Janet Fielding, 23, is to be the new girl in the life of Dr Who, it was disclosed yesterday. She won the part from more than 100 hopefuls who auditioned. Janet, who now lives in Putney, will be Dr Who's 16th girl companion in the television programme, which has been running for 17 years. She makes her first appearance in March.
