Bishop Guertin High School's FIRST Robotics team, Team 811, will appear at Nashua's annual Winter Holiday Stroll, which will take place from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26.

The team is advised by computer science teacher Thomas Indelicato. The team will showcase its robot from last season, TARDIS, at the Nashua Public Library. Everyone is welcome to visit and learn more about Team 811.

TARDIS took six weeks to build from scratch and was extremely successful in the Granite State Regional competition at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester. Team 811 placed as the second seed by winning eight of the 10 preliminary rounds before heading into the final rounds. There, BG reached the semifinals before it was finally defeated.

This amazing robot was built around last season's game, which was to stack tubes in rows high in the air in the formation of FIRST's logo: a red triangle, a white circle and a blue square. The team will demonstrate that game at the library during the stroll.

If you go, Team 811 would love to tell you more about TARDIS and what FIRST Robotics is about. They might even let you drive the robot, so come to the Winter Holiday Stroll and see for yourself what TARDIS can do.

The stroll, which started in 1993, is Nashua's official kickoff to the holiday season. An estimated 30,000 people come every year to enjoy the free event.

The stroll will start with a procession from City Hall to Railroad Square, where Nashua's official Christmas tree will be lit. Most of the downtown is closed to traffic during the stroll so that people attending can enjoy live entertainment and more than 100 indoor and outdoor venues.
