[edit]

A problem with the transmitter Tuesday for KPTS, Ch. 8, knocked the public television station off the air about 5:30 p.m., and programming did not resume until the regular sign-on Wednesday morning.

As a result, two college credit courses plus the concluding episode of "Dr. Who," one of the station's most popular series, will be rescheduled beginning today, according to spokesman Dave Brewer.

The "Dr. Who" episode, a crucial conclusion of a series called "Masque of Mandragon," will be broadcast at 6 p.m. today. The new "Dr. Who" series started at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, so this extra episode will be squeezed in out of sequence, Brewer said.
