DR. WHO, currently battling with the gigantic horror of the Krynoids--a particularly nasty breed of man-eating mobile plants like the one above—might do well to drop in at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington on Thursday.
There he will find the country's champion plant chatters (people who chat up their flower-beds and window-boxes) competing for the title Plant Talker of Great Britain.
Seven finalists will be appearing with examples of their most responsive plants before three judges who will not only grade competitors on chat, but decide whether or not the plants on show have thrived on a diet of gossip.
On this column we are all in blooming good health.
