IT IS Christmas Day in Victorian England and a woman shudders. "A strange creature came out of the shadows, a man made of metal," she says.
"What manner of men are they?" a terrified vicar asks. This is the chilling return of the Cybermen, right, who appear in the special edition of BBC1's Dr Who on Christmas Day, along with new variants the Cybershades, left.
It is also the episode in which fans of the sci-fi series get a peek into the future when the doctor, David Tennant, meets the man expected to replace him as Time Lord, David Morrissey.
Tennant will step down at the end of next year after completing four more special episodes.
