Robert Cuevas and Dana King-Cuevas, upset along with other "Doctor Who" fans that their favorite has been dropped from Channel 8, are trying to spur interest during the March pledge period.
"It seems Wichitans like to watch 'Doctor Who' but are unwilling or perhaps just apathetic toward supporting the program," the couple noted of the British series, which started 30 years ago and has been through several incarnations in lead actors.
KPTS, Ch. 8 officials acknowledge they have heard rumblings of a campaign to bring back the series, which five years ago was one of the most-watched shows on Channel 8. They will reserve their decision until the current pledge period ends, according to station spokesman Dave Brewer.
