The Film and TV Conference is part of the Norwich Sound and Vision (NS+V) festival which will run from October 10 to 12.

It provides a platform for emerging music acts as well as hosting a conference spanning many of the creative industries.

A number of creative organisations in Norfolk are involved in putting the film and TV programme together and all of the events are taking place at Cinema City.

Keith Johnston, senior lecturer at the School of Film, Television and Media Studies at the University of East Anglia, said: "This is the third year that the School of Film, Television and Media Studies has been involved with Norwich Sound + Vision, and we've got some of our biggest and most popular speakers yet, with writers and producers from Doctor Who, Wolfblood, The Thick of It, Men Behaving Badly, House of Anubis, Birds of a Feather and more.

"Whether people are eager to get into the film and television industries, or just love those shows, this is a great line-up that speaks to the reputation of NS+V and UEA and our partners Write2Screen and Wavelength Films."

Keith Bartlett, from Norwich University of the Arts, added: "NUA is delighted to be involved in this year's Norwich Sound and Vision Festival and is leading with three events: a screening of the best work from UK Film Schools, which will be introduced by NUA Professor Suzie Hanna; our symposium on Transmedia Documentary; and a live Q&A with award-winning TV and cinema director, Suri Krishnamma."

Adrian Cooke, the director of Norwich Sound and Vision, said he was excited about the festival's line-up.

He said: "We're really pleased that Norwich University of The Arts, UEA, Wavelength Films and Write 2 Screen have put together such a compelling programme for the film and TV strand of this year's Norwich Sound and Vision conference.

"It's a massive step forward in our quest to create the UK's equivalent of SXSW in Austin, Texas - currently the world's biggest music, film and interactive festival and conference."

Some of the film and TV events at Cinema City over the three days include: script consultant Christabelle Dilks and scriptwriter Michael Lengsfield on how to write a screenplay on Thursday, October 10; comedy writers such as Simon Nye (creator/writer of Men Behaving Badly) and Sue Teddern (Birds Of A Feather) talking about how to write TV comedy on Friday, October 11; Adam Tandy, producer of The Thick Of It and I'm Alan Patridge talking about his experiences in television on Friday, October 11; writers and producers from Doctor Who talking about what it is like to write and produce the adventures of the Timelord and his companions in Doctor Who and Beyond: British Fantasy / Science Fiction Television on Saturday, October 12.
