A clutch of past Doctors appeared in Jodie Whittaker's Doctor Who farewell, but not the longest-serving of all, Tom Baker. Departing showrunner Chris Chibnall confirms he approached Baker, now 88, but the actor was unavailable. As for more recent Doctors not appearing, Chibnall "wanted it to be classic Doctors — there's not a huge amount of those left."
