Colin Baker's hurt at Doctor's 50th 'snub'
FORMER Time Lord Colin Baker has blasted the BBC for excluding his Doctor from the 50th anniversary show.
The actor, 70, who played the sixth Who from 1984 to 1986, said he felt like a "second class citizen" for being snubbed.
He spoke of his disappointment at discovering the fourth Doctor, Tom Baker, had been given a cameo role as a gallery curator.
Matt Smith, 31, David Tennant, 42, and John Hurt, 73, were the stars of The Day of the Doctor which pulled in more than 10 million viewers on Saturday.
But Tom, 79, and Peter Capaldi, 55, who replaces Matt later this year, also briefly featured in the one-off special.
Colin said: "All or none, that's what I would have thought.
"I know Tom did it longer than anybody else and he's the oldest Doctor but by asking him and not us, it makes you feel like a second class citizen.
"Peter Davison, the fifth Doctor, said way back that they were not going to have us in the special. At the time, we didn't know that Tom was in it which was slightly irritating."
Colin believes the show's biggest fans would have wanted to see all the Doctors together.
He added: "Even though I don't look the same, none of us look exactly the same, it would have been nice to get a small part in it - to give back to the fans"
However, Colin did star in The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot - a Who spoof directed by Peter Davison.
The programme, available on the BBC website, sees Colin and seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy try to get involved with the 50th anniversary show.
He said: "Peter came up with the idea for the film. I'm so proud of the Reboot.
"I really hope fans love watching it as much as we loved doing it."
