Meet Romana, Dr. Who's latest starring partner.
She is lovely and Mary Tamm, aged 28, who is to play the doctor's new assistant in the next B.B.C. television series.
After lording it over 13 assistants in the last few years, the space age male chauvinist may have met his match this time.
Romana is a Time Lord herself, with a mind of her own and an astronomical I.Q. to go with it. She does not believe in doctor's orders.
Says Mary: "The doctor's other girls were in the background than I am being given a chance to create a personality."
Producer Graham Williams adds: "Romana is just out of Time Lord academy, but the Dr. hasn't been the university for 500 years.
"He resents being told what to do by a young girl."
