London, April 5.

Upwards of 40,000 fans, some from the U.S. where the show clears some 70-odd stations, mingled with topliner Peter Davison and other cast members at a 20th anni celebration of BBC-TV's "Dr. Who" series over the Easter weekend on the grounds of Longleat, a stately home in Wiltshire county.

Fans of the science fantasy kid-show have staged conventions before, including one last year in Chicago, but this year's jamboree was only the first in the show's home market. BBC said before the Sunday-Monday event that it had an advance ticket sale of around 10,000 at $5.90 for adults and $2.95 for kids.

Series is repped in the U.S. by N.Y.-based syndicator Lionheart.
