[edit]

All-new space fantasy serialized adventures, starring Tom Baker in the title role, is seen weeknights at 6:30 p.m. on Channel 44 when Time-Life Television presents "Doctor Who," a BBC-TV production.

The mini-adventure series, which includes the best special effects of any television program, finds Baker as the almost perfect "Doctor Who." He's witty, humane and has the ability to laugh at himself.

Channel 44's "Doctor Who" adventures during the early part of the new Fall season will include "The Genesis of the Daleks," where the good Doctor is sent by the Time Lords on a life or death mission to overthrow Davros, the great Kaled scientist.

"Ark In Space" is another October mini-adventure series for doctor Who. After Earth has been rendered uninhabitable by solar flares, Doctor Who is summoned to rescue the planet's survivors.

"Doctor Who" is fantastic — but believable
