A FUNNY thing happens to science fiction epic Dr Who when it returns to TV in the autumn atter an 18-month break, The new series, starring Colin Baker, as the time lord, will have snore humour and less violence,
The changes follow criticism by BBC1 controller Michael Grade who threatened to axe the long-running show, "But it won't be slapstick," said a spokesman. "We are not turning it into Carry On Doctor."
