[edit]

TIME has finally run out for Dr Who's asistant Tegan.

Australian actress Janet Fielding is to leave the series after three years—a record run for the companion. But Janet hopes the end will not be too grisly.

I would hate to die," she said yesterday. "I just hope they won't do that to me. I want to fade away in typical Dr. Who fashion.

"There is a policy at the BBC to change the assistants around. It will be a sad to stop but exciting to do something else."

"Dr Who is a very successful formula and the ratings are as high as ever."

Janet has Just started [liming her last series to be shown next year.
