Dr Who has driving seat on Concorde

FORMER Dr Who actor Peter Davison, more used to his Tardis time machine, travelled to America on the flight deck of Concorde yesterday after almost missing take-off.
Davison, with actress wife Sandra Dickinson and their new-born baby Georgia, turned up at Heathrow Airport without booking and with only minutes to spare.
He had hoped to buy a standby ticket, but the plane was full except for just one seat.
And as he rushed around searching for a solution, Davison quipped: "Give me a telephone box and I'll get there on my own!"

But quick-thinking British Airways came to the rescue when they offered the spare seat to Sandra and baby and the captain invited Davison aboard the flight deck.
With only 10 minutes to spare, the family raced across the departure lounge. Davison said: "It's not quite Tardis and I'd rather be with the family-but I am happy to have a seat."
They are planning to have an extended holiday in America although Davison will spend one day at a Dr Who convention in Los Angeles.
A BA spokesman said last night: "The flight deck is not used very often by passengers and is entirely at the discretion of the captain."
