DOCTOR WHO, otherwise actor Jon Pertwee, will celebration: when the Crystal Palace is thrown 15,000 children on June 10 as the Festival of highlight for youngsters.
The day-long programme will begin early in the morning with a parade headed by the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car.
The park will be filled with non-stop activity including bands, shows, a carousel, clowns, buskers, painting and modelling classes, story-tellers, a fairyland. magicians, fire-eaters, choirs, dancers and playgrounds.
Special attractions will be the James Bond moon buggie from Diamonds Are Forever, Terry Hall with Lenny the Lion, the Bubble Theatre Company with a new children's show and, of course, Punch and Judy.
The spectacular programme is still being added to and no Mats will be admitted unless accompanied by a child.
Two stars are to step in at the last minute to take the place of opera singer Adele Leigh at Lewisham Concert Hall on Sunday. Miss Leigh has been taken ill in Switzerland. Lucille Graham and Edmund Hockridge fill the gap.
