The Rose: Geek Bar Beta, currently housed at the former Storefront Company in Wicker Park, will open its main Geek Bar location in Lincoln Park in early 2015. Bar manager Laura Green's most popular of these drinks will cross over to the new space. Perhaps nowhere else is her knack for geek-inspired mixology more apparent than in the Rose. This frothy $12 delight, named after the "Doctor Who" character Rose Tyler, is well worth sipping. Composed of Two James Old Cockney Gin (to match Rose Tyler's Cockney accent), house-made grenadine, fresh lemon, cream and egg white, shaken, then poured into a dainty champagne saucer glass, the pale pink Rose nails the tricky balance of tasting light and fresh, but also rich, creamy and marvelously decadent 1941W. North Ave. (scheduled to open at 1960 N. Clybourn Ave. in January), geekbarchicago.com
