[edit]

A FAMILY-RUN sci-fi museum may have to close because a Dalek display does not comply with planning regulations.

The Museum of Classic Sci-Fi in Allendale in Northumberland includes a shed housing a model Dalek at the front of the house.

Art teacher Neil Cole built the Dalek with his after-school club students, but he and his wife Lisa have now been told that the shed requires planning permission, which probably wouldn't be granted for their Georgian home.

A Northumberland Council spokesperson said: "We wish to work with the property owner to resolve this."
