[edit]

FORMER Dr Who actress Lalla Ward has received substantial damages after fake nude pictures of her appeared in a girlie magazine.

Miss Ward, who played Princess Astra in the BBC series, is the estranged wife of actor Tom Baker, who once played the title role.

She was "greatly distressed" to see pictures, said to be of her in full frontal and lesbian poses, in the Club International magazine, owned by Paul Raymond, newspapers reported today.

Although the magazine advertised on its cover that the photos were of Miss Ward, they were in fact of another girl, a court was told.

Miss Ward, daughter of Lord Bangor, appeared topless in a film called Got It Made, in 1973, The film was later reissued as Sweet Virgin, with a number of nude and lesbian scenes added, which gave the impression that it was Miss Ward participating.
