Dr Who gets raunchy adult spin-off

A SEXY, adults-only version of Dr Who is on its way.

It stars his bisexual sidekick Captain Jack Harkness. Bed-hopping Jack smooched with the Doctor and his female pal Rose in the last series.

Now the dashing, time travelling hero from the 51st century, played by John Barrowman, 38, will return in the spin-off called Torchwood — an anagram of Doctor Who —next summer. A BBC insider revealed: "This will be a million miles away from the Saturday night adventure of the Doctor.

"There will be sex scenes galore. It's going to be graphic." Barrowman said: "I'm absolutely thrilled about Torchwood. It's going to be a dark, wild and sexy roller-coaster ride.

"I can't wait to explore Captain Jack even more."

BBC chiefs are making the adults-only show to cash in on the likely popularity of the next Dr Who series starring David Tennant, 34, and Billie Piper, 23.

Dr Who writer Russell T Davies, 42 — who will pen the new show — said: "It will be a sexy, British crime/ sci-fi paranoid thriller cop show with a sense of humour — The X Files meets This Life."
