We finished watching the second season of Doctor Who (thanks NetFlix) and can now start enjoying the third installment, airing at 8pm Fridays on the Sci Fi Channel. Out creator Russell T. Davies has kept the quasi-kitsch value of the long-running British TV series (the first iteration of the show premiered in 1963) and invested it with a rich sense of drama and a discussion of deep moral issues—and hot-tie David Tennant (pictured) as The Doctor. We're also totally psyched for the impending arrival of Torchwood, the X-Files style spin-off to BBC America in September. Now comes word Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum James Marsters has been signed to join Torchwood for its next season, and his character might be making a move on bisexual Captain Jack Harkness (Jonathan Barrowman). "[It's] going to offend some, titillate others," he told fans at a Fangoria convention in New Jersey. "To the point where they would need to finish themselves off afterwards." Oh James, you tease!
