JON PERTWEE, who played the time lord Dr Who, entered the 1990s yesterday when he visited Glasgow's version of the Tardis to launch a telecoms product which its makers claim will have a bigger market than mobile phones.

A new service from the Personal Number Agency offers customers a life-long number which will follow them wherever they go. Anastasia St Raphael, PNA's chief executive, said the 07000 personal number system. pioneered by Vodafone, allows customers to re-route calls to wherever they are in the world.
