JODIE WHITTAKER has revealed she was so happy to be told she had become the new Doctor Who she burst into tears.
The actress, who replaces PETER CAPALDI as the first ever female Time Lord, told how she received the bombshell news on the phone.
Jodie, above, said: "I played it really cool and cried.
"I'm about to play an alien - a Time Lord - and that as a girl, who knew? That's incredible and it's really emotional because of that."
The announcement has left die-hard fans somewhat disgruntled, but Jodie says she hasn't noticed any negative comments.
She said: "I've missed a lot of the fun stuff and probably the bad stuff because I'm not on any type of social media and never will be...
"I need to go on Twitter, search and see if anyone has tweeted about me."
Better brace yourself, Jodie.
