Jon Pertwee, 49-year-old film, theatre, and radio comedian and actor will he the new Dr Who on BBC-TV when the programme returns after the summer break in January 1970.
He said yesterday that he had not seen the programme for several years and did not yet know what sort of Dr Who he was going to be. He is the third Dr Who in the six-year-old television serial.
