[edit]

Last year's revelation of Sutekh being the Big Bad may have sent younger fans in search of the celebrated Pyramids of Mars. If they did, consider that a job well done, Russell T Davies. But this year's double surprise of the Rani and Omega masterminding a wicked plot is more fraught with risk, especially if kids now stumble across their past appearances in such misfires as Time and the Rani and Arc of Infinity. With neither serial spotlighting the classic series at its finest, all we can hope is that no one is dissuaded from returning for this finale, which sees the Doctor risking all he holds dear.
