I am amazed that a newspaper that generally provides good coverage local issues affecting the Yourshepway readership should continue to provide column inches to those who wish to engage in a debate about the merits of an actress in a national television programme ("Time for a woman to be Dr Who? Yourletters April 30).
There are many issues which affect this area - transport, environment, energy, recycling, planning post office closures etc - which are far more deserving of space for local opinion than Dr Who.
I am sure there are websites and chat-rooms which are available to those who wish to engage in discussion of their pet topics.
Anyway, the loinclothed Louise Jameson as Leela was by far the best Dr Who girl...
